Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I wish you and your loved ones a blessed and happy Easter.
Whenever you hear the greeting “Happy Easter,” do not dismiss it as a simple holiday pleasantry. Throughout this Octave of Easter, we continue to rejoice in the reality that Christ has conquered sin and death, and that His light has overcome all darkness.
At the Easter Vigil, the Church proclaims: “Let all corners of the earth be glad, knowing an end to gloom and darkness.” This is the joy of Easter—a joy that remains even amid life’s trials, for Christ is risen and walks with us.
As we continue to celebrate this great feast, I invite you to join me for a special moment in the life of our local Church. On Saturday, April 11 at 4:15 PM, we will gather at the Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena in Allentown for a Mass of Thanksgiving marking the 65th Anniversary of the Diocese of Allentown.
Together, we will give thanks to Almighty God for the many blessings bestowed upon our Diocese over these sixty-five years. United in the Holy Eucharist, we entrust our past to God’s providence with gratitude and look to the future with renewed hope, confident that the Lord continues to guide and strengthen His Church.
May this celebration be an opportunity for renewal for each of us and for our entire diocesan family, as we recommit ourselves to living and sharing the Gospel with joy.
