For the third time this season, thrower Rachel Tanczos has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Performer of the Week, according to the University of Notre Dame.
Tanczos, a 2017 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic, throws the discus, shot put and hammer, in addition to participating in the women’s weight throw. She set a new NCAA distance record in a meet this past weekend.
Tanczos is active in campus ministry at Notre Dame, and is an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. She is working toward a double major in psychology and theology, and hopes to pursue a career in sports psychology. A resident of Danielsville, she is a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem parish.
