With the public offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass being suspended in Dioceses across the country and the world over, many faithful Catholics are feeling a keen sense of loss at not being able to receive Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist.

In times and places where the availability of the Most Blessed Sacrament has been scarce, many, including Saints, have turned to Jesus in the practice of Spiritual Communion.

Spiritual Communion is the practice of uniting yourself to Christ when you cannot receive the Eucharist.

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
