Bethlehem Catholic High School announces Mike and Kathy Grasso as their 2024 Golden Gala Honorees. The Golden Hawk Family will gather Saturday, March 23 to celebrate their contributions to Bethlehem Catholic and beyond as a loving couple and as genuinely remarkable individuals.
Mike Grasso, an East Stroudsburg University and Penn State University graduate, devoted over four decades to Bethlehem Catholic. Mike's influence is unmistakable from his impactful role as Dean of Student Life to his leadership in crisis intervention, along with his positions as coach and Athletic Director.
His dedication and expertise in coaching earned him numerous honors and achievements throughout his career, including multiple Coach of the Year awards and induction into the Bethlehem Catholic Wall of Fame. Furthermore, Mike's commitment to community service is evident through his involvement in various boards and committees, advocating for sportsmanship, character development, and educational initiatives.
Equally commendable is Kathy Grasso, who graduated from Bethlehem Catholic in 1970 and has given her unwavering commitment to youth ministry, spiritual direction, and healthcare. After graduating from Lehigh County Community College with a degree in Applied Sciences, she excelled in physical therapy care, earning acclaim for her compassionate approach.
Driven to deepen her faith professionally, Kathy pursued certification in spiritual direction from Mariawald Renewal Center in Reading, utilizing it in her role as Catholic Chaplain at Country Meadows Retirement Community and various ministries within our Diocese.
Beyond their professional endeavors, Mike and Kathy's personal lives reflect their faith and family values. They have been married for 48 years, have four children, and have 12 grandchildren. Throughout the years, they have supported each other as a married couple, with Kathy dedicating herself to raising their children while encouraging Mike in his professional endeavors. Their outstanding commitment to their family and community was recognized when the Diocese of Allentown chose them to represent the Diocese at the Celebration of the Year of the Family in Rome in 1994.
