Event to Celebrate Women and the Real Presence

As the Diocese of Allentown celebrates the Year of the Real Presence, many special events are being held that provide reflection and adoration of the Holy Eucharist.

The Commission for Women is inviting all women to celebrate and contemplate the mystery of the Holy Eucharist on their Day of Reflection to be held Saturday, October 16, at St. Mary’s Parish, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The day will begin with Mass celebrated by Bishop Alfred Schlert, and will also include Eucharistic Adoration, opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession), guest speakers, lunch, and time for personal prayer and reflection.

Father Bernard Ezaki will be the keynote speaker and will speak on “Understanding the Real Presence.” Sister Sophia Peralta also will speak and offer a reflection on “Responding to the Real Presence.”

Cost for the event is $25 per attendee and registration is online. There is a special group rate for eight women to attend together for $175. Individuals and group registration can be found on the event website at https://register.allentowndiocese.org/womens-conference-group-2021.

The diocesan Commission for Women exists to encourage and support the evangelization of women, and to enrich them in their roles as daughters, sisters, aunts, mothers, and wives. The group provides opportunities for women to become Disciples of Christ and to grow in their relationship with Jesus and with other Catholic women in the Diocese.
