Holy Family Senior Living Opens Doors to Community

Holy Family Senior Living in Bethlehem welcomed members of the community to the facility’s first Open House since the pandemic on Friday September 23. Bishop Schlert along with members of the Diocesan leadership team were among the fifty people who attended the event.

A few of the featured Partners in Care were present for the Open House. Present were leadership from DaVita, Holy Family Senior Living’s kidney dialysis service provider, who maintains a dialysis center on the campus for the residents of Holy Family Senior Living. Also present were representatives from St. Luke’s Hospital and Lehigh Valley Hospital, who often refer seniors in need to one of the care facilities in the Holy Family network.

“It was wonderful to see so many people come together at Holy Family,” said Joseph Shadid, Chief Executive Officer. “We are the only Catholic organization in the region, and we value and care for our residents as we would for members of our family. It is rewarding to work with others that believe in and support our mission.”

Guests were invited to tour the facilities, meet staff, leadership teams, and members of the Holy Family Senior Living’s Board of Directors. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the extensive lines of care offered, including skilled nursing, both short term and long-term rehabilitation, dialysis, independent living, respite care, and personal care.

Founded in 1963, Holy Family Senior Living, ranked 9th in the state of Pennsylvania by Newsweek Magazine’s Top Nursing Homes, offers a full range of quality care services to meet the diverse needs of older adults. As a continuous care community, Holy Family operates multiple facilities in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties that provide an independent retirement lifestyle residents desire with personal care support they need.
