Hundreds of seniors across the five counties of the Diocese of Allentown have affordable independent housing, thanks to Holy Family Senior Living.
It’s just one part of Holy Family Senior Living’s mission of providing compassionate care to older adults while ensuring their sacred dignity and independence.
There are eight independent-living apartment buildings in the Diocese, according to Len Weiser, the agency’s interim Chief Executive Officer.
There are two in Berks County, one in Carbon, one in Lehigh, one in Northampton, and three in Schuylkill, for a total of 280 apartments.
Holy Family Senior Living owns and operates the complexes, which are for low-income seniors who qualify. The units are subsidized by the U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development and Department of Agriculture.
Residents are supported by dedicated Service Coordinators who serve as advocates and navigators, helping them access essential resources such as Meals on Wheels, healthcare, and other community-based services. Through partnerships with community organizations, most notably Catholic Charities, they support residents in remaining stable, connected, and living independently.
Holy Family Senior Living also operates a Continuing Care Retirement Community (LifePlan), which includes Holy Family Manor, a nursing and rehabilitation community, and Grace Mansion, a personal care community in Bethlehem.
