At the invitation of Bishop Schlert and the Bishop’s Commissions for Women, Men, and Young Adults, Mary Rice Hasson of the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C., will lead a diocesan-wide workshop on gender ideology.
“The Church teaches that being created male or female is a reality that is good, is willed by God, and leads to happiness if lived out with understanding,” the Bishop said. “Increasingly, powerful voices in our culture contradict this truth, claiming that people can choose their sex. This ‘gender ideology’ places a very heavy burden on our youth. I encourage parents, educators, and all the faithful to attend this workshop to learn about the dangers of gender ideology as well as the authentic teachings of the Church,” he added.
The Oct. 8 event will also include a three-person expert panel and opportunities for audience members to pose questions to Ms. Hasson and the panelists. The event is free, but registration is required by September 25. Register online by clicking here.
