Diocesan Memorial Mass and Vespers Set for Pope Francis

Bishop Alfred Schlert will celebrate a Solemn Pontifical Mass for the Repose of the Soul of Pope Francis at 12:15 p.m., Friday, April 25, at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown.

The Bishop will also lead Solemn Pontifical Vespers for the Repose of the Soul of Pope Francis at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, at the Cathedral.

All are invited to attend both the Mass and the Vespers. The Mass and Vespers will be livestreamed on the Diocese news website, AD Today, and on the Diocese’s YouTube and Facebook channels. The 12:15 p.m. Mass can be viewed on television on Service Electric Channel 50. To follow along at home, please access the Mass and Vespers program here.

In a letter addressed to the Clergy of the Diocese, Bishop Schlert extended the invitation, reflecting on Pope Francis’s life as a devoted leader of the Church, saying, “I encourage you and the faithful of your Parish and School to join me at the Cathedral in praying for this humble shepherd who dedicated his life completely to the Gospel of Christ.”
