Young men of high school age and older attended the Diocese of Allentown's Come and See discernment retreat at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary on Sept. 22-24.
The retreat included prayer and daily Mass with the seminarians, talks and time for reflection, sports, meals, and a pilgrimage to several shrines in Philadelphia.
It was the last such retreat to be held at the seminary's Wynnewood Road Campus. The seminary purchased a property in Lower Gwynedd from Gwynned Mercy University and plans to build new facilities that suit the needs of its current and future students.
As part of its founding Decree in 1961, the Diocese of Allentown has had an integral relationship with Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. Currently, 13 of the Allentown seminarians are in formation at Saint Charles.
The Diocese will hold a second collection at all Masses on the weekend of November 4-5, 2023, to support Saint Charles’ relocation.
