Dozens of participants in the Ministerial and Theological Studies Program in Spanish met to continue their program of study with a class entitled “Introduction to the Sacraments (Celebration of the Christian Mystery.)”
The program is best known by its Spanish language acronym, “LET,” which stands for “Llevamos Este Tesoro,” or “We Carry This Treasure.”
The Aug 26 meeting took place at Holy Guardian Angels Regional School in Reading. Ana Hidalgo, Th.M., the Bishop’s Delegate to the Hispanic Community, taught the class, aimed at Spanish-speaking leaders of ministries and movements throughout the Diocese.
The program consists of four phases: basic, intermediary, advanced, and specialized. Participants are required to complete each phase before moving on to the next.
These formative studies are based on the full transmission of the Church's Doctrine as described in 2 Corinthians 4:7: "But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.”

Monsignor John J. Grabish, Pastor of Saint Paul and Saint Joseph Parishes, Reading, expressed his joy and satisfaction to those present for the effort they have shown in preparing themselves, while he imparted his blessing on all.
“We are very happy we made the decision to sign up for this program,” said participants Marcial and Diana Mendez. “We have strengthened what we already knew about our faith and reaffirmed it.” As a couple, they are preparing themselves to continue serving on the parish council and to be the auxiliaries of the Legion of Mary of Saint Peter Parish, Reading.
Class six of phase one will be offered in Holy Guardian Angels Regional School, Reading, on Saturday, September 23from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Phase one will start its first class in the gymnasium of St. Paul, Allentown, starting on Tuesday, October 3 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
