In response to Our Lady of Fatima’s call for conversion, the parishes in the Berks Deanery will again be joining with others nationwide for a Eucharistic Rosary Congress – a week of Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, along with hourly recitation of the Rosary.
This year, the Congress coincides with the threefold focus of the Diocese of Allentown’s 65th Anniversary Jubilee Year – the Holy Eucharist, the Rosary, and Vocations.
The Congress will take place at Holy Guardian Angels, Reading. It will open Saturday, Oct. 3, at the 4:15 p.m. Vigil Mass, with a special focus on the Congress in the homily. At the conclusion of Mass, there will be a Eucharistic Procession to the Chapel of Divine Mercy.
Perpetual Adoration will begin in the chapel at 5:15 p.m. and continue for seven days and six nights through Friday, Oct. 9. It will conclude Oct. 9 with a 6 p.m. closing Mass celebrated by Bishop Alfred Schlert and concelebrated by other priests in the Berks County Deanery.
At the beginning of each hour during the seven days and six nights, all Adorers will recite the Rosary before continuing their silent prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. The Rosary will be rotated through a number of languages. Bishop Schlert will lead the last hour of the Rosary on Oct. 9 at 5 p.m., right before the closing Mass at 6 p.m.
Parishioners throughout the Diocese are invited to attend anytime during the Congress. Those able to participate are asked to sign up as Rosary leaders or Adorers for Perpetual Adoration.
Throughout the week, a variety of complimentary print materials and sacramentals will be available for all to take.

“It was such a blessing last year to see how many people came to pray and adore Jesus, especially how many very young children came so reverently with their parents – and how many young men and women came on their own, particularly during the midnight to 6 a.m. hours,” a representative of Holy Guardian Angels parish said.
The Eucharistic Rosary Congress movement had a miraculous beginning in 1979 surrounding events with Pope St. John Paul II in Poland, and it came to the United States in Washington, D.C., in 1988 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Since then, it has spread throughout the nation.
The purpose of the Congress, according to the mission statement, is “to ignite a profound transformation in our hearts and souls, fostering a worldwide love for Our Eucharistic Lord and dear Blessed Mother.”
In 2025, Pope Leo XIV granted an Apostolic Blessing to Kristin Bird, President of the Eucharistic Rosary Congress of the United States, and to all who participated in and supported the congresses during the 2025 Holy Year.
