Nearly 1000 people, both young, old, and in-between came out to be present on December 10 when Bishop Alfred A. Schlert blessed and dedicated the new parish center and gymnasium at St. Jane Frances de Chantal, Easton.
After the dedication ceremony, people toured the state-of-the art complex to get a firsthand experience on how it will be utilized. The adult and children choirs entertained, and refreshments made on site were served.
The new facility offers the nearly 4000 families much needed meeting rooms, a banquet hall, and kitchen providing the Parish with a space to come together for ministry, fellowship, and social activities. The gym will serve as a sports facility for the parish CYO and other sporting events.
Parishioner Mr. Basilio Macchia generously stated in his will that a $1 million trust fund be established for future building needs at St. Jane. After his passing in December 2007, his heirs wisely invested the $1 million that grew to $2 million, and the entirety was subsequently donated to the Parish.
The Parish began a capital campaign for parishioners to provide more funding to build a parish center and gymnasium. Groundbreaking was held on May 14, 2022. Final cost of the parish center and gymnasium was nearly $7.2 million.
