Kolbe Academy Will Not Reopen For 2023-2024 School Year

Kolbe Academy, a specialized diocesan high school for students recovering from addiction, will not reopen for the 2023-2024 academic year.

During its four years in operation, the school provided a much-needed service for its students, but enrollment never reached a level to enable the school to sustain itself financially.

Parents of students at the school were notified of the decision in a letter this week.

“Opening Kolbe Academy was part of our Catholic mission to help families in need,” said Dr. Philip J. Fromuth, Superintendent of Catholic Education. “I want to thank everyone who was a part of this courageous undertaking – students, parents, faculty, staff, the Kolbe Board of Directors, and the community at large.”
