Maggie Riggins has a day job at the Diocese, managing campus and young adult ministries, but her night job – at least for the next few Wednesdays – is hosting a new and engaging series of live Zoom conversations called Late Night Lent.
The programs are short, lively, easily understandable, and inspiring.
They are scheduled at 9 p.m. Wednesdays – the perfect time for young parents who may have already put their kids to bed and are ready to devote a little time to themselves.
Judging from reaction to the first installment on Ash Wednesday, however, Late Night Lent has been popular with a wider audience, and with people of all ages.
“I wanted to provide an easy way for people to connect with the Church in a meaningful, memorable, and inspirational way,” Riggins said. “I think of these conversations as nuggets of our faith, delivered in a way that is accessible to all.”
On future shows, Riggins will be joined by a guest for part of her talk. Those scheduled to make appearances include Deacon Philip Maas, who is in his last year of studies to become a priest; Father Allen Hoffa; and Bishop Schlert, among others.
To participate in Late Night Lent, tune in live via Zoom, or on the diocesan Facebook page. Past installments can be seen on the Diocese of Allentown YouTube page.
