Marian High School Names New Head of School

Marian Catholic High School has named Mr. Michael Brennan, M. Ed., as its new Head of School, starting July 1.

The appointment means that Father Allen Hoffa, who has been in the post on an interim basis, will be freed up to spend more time on his other diocesan and pastoral duties, which continue.

Brennan has been a special education teacher at Palmerton Area High School since 2013, and served as the Principal Intern/Practicum during the 2019-2020 school year. Before joining the Palmerton district, he was a learning support teacher at Panther Valley Elementary School in Nesquehoning.

Brennan’s experience includes teaching elementary math, English, and history, as well as instructing and modifying regular education math classes for special education students in grades 9-12.

He received his Principal Certificate from Point Park University in Pittsburgh in 2020; earned his M.Ed., Educational Administration/Special Education at the University of Pittsburgh in 2014; and graduated with a B.S.Ed., Elementary Education/Special Education from Wilkes University.

Brennan already is a familiar face at Marian, having worked with the Blue and Gold Club to institute the summer games and the major fundraising of the Men of Marian Picnic. He also has served as the Marian Catholic Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach since 2010.
