Prevent Federal Funding for Abortions by Helping Preserve the Hyde Amendment

Bishop Alfred Schlert is urging the faithful to contact Congress to preserve the Hyde Amendment, which prevents federal funding of elective abortions.

The Hyde Amendment has been part of the federal government’s annual appropriations bill for 45 years. It enjoys overwhelming public support.

Now, some lobbying groups and members of congress want to eliminate this protection, potentially allowing billions of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.
