Quo Vadis and Fiat Days, summer camps for young men and women who are discerning their vocation to the priesthood, married, or religious life, are cancelled this year due to safety concerns over the Coronavirus.
“We are sad to announce that our very popular and successful summer youth discernment retreats, Quo Vadis and Fiat Days, have been cancelled for this July due to safety precautions and to protect the health or our participants,” said Father Mark Searles, Director of the Office for Vocations Promotion.
If health and safety conditions improve this summer, Father Searles said the Diocese may host a one-day event for youth, priests, seminarians, religious sisters, and married couples. “I know these folks are looking forward to getting together as soon as it is safe to do so,” he said.
Those interested are asked to save the dates for next summer, July 18-22, 2021.
The Office for Vocation Promotion will host other discernment events in the upcoming months and is glad to support any young person in their discernment process in any way possible during this difficult time, Father Searles said. He can be reached at msearles@allentowndiocese.org.
“Please be assured of our prayers for the young people of the Diocese of Allentown,” said Father Searles.
