Coaches and players of the Green Wave volleyball team of Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville receive their medals and trophy after placing as state runner-up in the championship match for the 2019 PIAA Class A match. The team faced Northern Cambria High School Nov. 16 at Cumberland Valley High School, Mechanicsburg.
It went through “five set losses to Marian High School, Tamaqua in past years and last season’s loss to Berlin in the state semifinals to truly value and appreciate what it means to be where we are today,” said coach Jenn Daubert and the team in a message thanking supporters.
“Our girls have always played with heart, and against Northern Cambria, we came out with everything we had and left it all out on the floor, especially in the third set. The little girls who we were who picked up a volleyball because of the love of the game are so very proud of how far we have come and the players we are today.”
