Members of 7th Grade class at St. Thomas More School in Allentown formed the STM Robotics Team to compete in the inaugural season of the Lehigh Valley CORE Middle School Interscholastic Robotics League.
In this photo, Loughlin Hanna (left) and Alex Williams program their robot to perform the difficult task of picking up golf balls and dropping each of them into a space in the egg carton.
The competition is held on Tuesday afternoons in January and February at the school. Students are competing against teams from other area schools, using the skills they learn in their Technology class. In the first week, St. Thomas More students scored the most total points with a 2nd place, 4th place and 5th place finish.
