‘Make a Joyful Noise’ Ceremony Honors 26 Schools

Representatives from Diocese of Allentown Catholic schools gathered at Allentown Central Catholic High School (ACCHS) on April 10 to celebrate dance moves, dogs, and dollars – in other words, the “Make a Joyful Noise” (MAJN)campaign.

The MAJN campaign is a friendly competition among our diocesan schools throughout Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties to make a music video that will earn donations and support for the school.

At the awards ceremony, ACCHS’s Assistant Director of Campus Ministry, SisterMathilde DeLucy S.C.C., led an opening prayer invoking the patron saint of music, St. Cecilia. Then, Superintendent of Catholic Education, Dr. Mike St. Pierre, gave opening remarks, noting that the campaign raised close to $165,000 for the 26 Catholic schools that participated this year.

St. Pierre also expressed his appreciation for all Advancement Directors: “You point out the things that make our schools special. We need you!”

Following the welcome, Valerie Versmee, Program Manager of Scholarships, joined Amy Impellizzeri, Director of Scholarships, to announce the award winners.
