GMA Dove Award-nominated singer Sarah Kroger led an evening of worship for the Diocese of Allentown on Sept. 14, drawing several hundred people to Notre Dame High School, Easton. The event was sponsored by the non-profit United Hearts Life, which is based out of Macungie.
Sarah Kroger is an experienced Catholic singer and songwriter who was thrilled to be able to share her music with the audience in Easton. Connecting with her audiences through worship, Kroger has been interested in music from a young age with her family also being involved in music ministry.
Currently serving as a worship leader and songwriter, Kroger is an experienced performer. Some of her most notable performances include performing for nearly a million youth and young adults at the World Jubilee Festival of the youth this past summer in Rome, and the Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis during the summer of 2024.
“She played for over a million youth at the World Jubilee Festival of the youth this year, and now, lo and behold, she is blessing us with her presence here tonight,” said Mary Ann Morales, Executive Director of United Hearts Life.
The concert began with Kroger’s hit song “Standing in your Light,” and she encouraged attendees to sing and clap along. The audience was joyful throughout the concert. With each song, she explained the significance of certain lyrics and her spiritual journey with each one, including her struggles to find God.
“You can have so much doubt in your life and so much pain at the same time. I think the key is honesty, and that the key is coming to the Lord,” said Kroger, introducing her song “No Filter.” “What I have found on the other side of honesty is a God who isn’t afraid of my honesty or my baggage…. In fact, He wants to meet us there.”
Kroger also brought up a member of the board for United Hearts Life. “United Hearts Life has such a beautiful mission and it is changing lives. It’s important for us to be able to support them and their journey,” she said. Their mission: to provide affirming healthcare to women that is unique in their journey and their unborn children by honoring all life from conception to natural death.
Many left the auditorium expressing gratitude for the opportunity to worship together, noting Kroger’s ability to blend personal vulnerability with powerful music.
